RAEKWON CONCERT IN MONTREAL
WU-TANG CLAN MEMBER AT CLUB SODA ON SEPTEMBER 10TH

Hip Hop Legend and Wu-Tang member, Raekwon will be hitting
Montreal on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 at Club Soda.
Raekwon - otherwise known as ?The Chef? for his lyrical flavor - is best
known for being a member of The Wu-Tang Clan. One of Rap?s most
influential groups, their debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
is considered a Hip Hop masterpiece. The group has released four other
albums, including Wu-Tang Forever and The W.
Raekwon has also had a highly successful solo career. The 1995 album
Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... is considered to be ?one of the best Wu-Tang
solo albums, and one of the finest and most influential hip hop albums
of the 1990s.? He has since released two other solo projects and is
working on the sequel; Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II.
Accompanying Raekwon on stage will be opening acts BMC, Velvet
Trench Vibes and VAI. Music will be provided by DJ Crowd and
Redd Dredd.
Club Soda is located at 1225 St-Laurent Blvd., corner Ste-Catherine,
Metro Saint-Laurent. Doors open at 7:00pm. Showtime at 8:30pm.
Advance tickets are $25.00 (plus service charges), available at all
Admission outlets (admission.com), Off The Hook, Fly Society,
Underworld and City Styles.
This concert is presented by Good Friday, BMC Musique,
Dreamskai and Escape Entertainment.

JEAN-S�BASTIEN LAPIERRE WINS DC NATIONALS
?takes home the largest prize money ever awarded to a Canadian AM

The final stage of the 2008 DC Nationals took place last weekend in
Montreal, QC at South Parc. There, Canada?s best amateur skateboarders
competed for a piece of the $20,000 cash purse. Jean-S�bastien Lapierre
of Notre Dame, QC took home $8000 for first place ? the largest prize
money ever handed out at a Canadian amateur skate contest. To skate at
the Finals in Montreal, each competitor had to qualify at one of seven
Regional Qualifiers across Canada. These qualifiers were open to anyone
and were completely non-profit which means there was no entry fee.

?This contest series showed a refreshing look at how diverse Canadian
skateboarders really are.? says Trevn Sharp, DC Canada Skate Team
Manager. ?The finals showed a multitude of styles, from Vancouver to
Halifax and everywhere in between. It was great to see the young kids
stepping it up against the older guys without hesitation. There was a
sense of fellowship between riders with laughs and cheers throughout
the weekend. In the end, it wasn?t really about who won, but that you
were there to experience this contest and meet people within the same
lifestyle that you?ve chosen for yourself.?

The DC Canadian team had a strong presence in the finals, with
Will Marshall, Josh Clark, Micky Papa, Jacob Williams and Will
Cristofaro all placing in the Top 10. Will Marshall proved that age is
not a factor in skateboarding, at only 15yrs old he charged the course
like a seasoned vet and put together consistent runs and fluid lines all
weekend. At the end of the day, he was awarded with second place and
$4000.

DC Nationals is Canada?s only nationwide skateboarding contest.
It also boasts the largest contest cash purse for Canadian amateur
skateboarders at $20,000.

Since 2003, DC has given back to its roots of skateboarding by hosting
the DC Nationals. The mission of the contest is to promote and involve
Canadian youth in skateboarding. The DC Nationals is a Non-Profit,
Canada-Wide skateboard contest and the only event of its kind that
gives Canadian amateur skaters a chance to showcase their talent on a
national level.
