RED LEDGE
North Vancovuer, B.C. -- Nike 6.0 is creating the GREATEST HITS Park
at Mt. Seymour, BC to support the local shred community and is
rebuilding three iconic features that influenced snow-culture
history, bringing together world-class spots in one location and
adding to the already epic roster of shred-spots in the Vancouver
area. The first feature to be reconstructed is the Red Ledge, a
daunting concrete monster at Montmorency Falls in Quebec City.
Made famous by seasoned film crews, the Red Ledge may be wide,
but it?s steep and fast?and don?t underestimate the power of that
bottom kink. Many banger tricks have gone down here while several
other brave souls have been broke off at the Ledge.

when he submitted some of the strongest photos of the best riders
coming out of Quebec. We decided right then and there that we had
to add him as one of our seniors. Even though the meta-data on his
photos is often in Fringlish we've never regretted having him on the
team. Here's his slideshow of the 2009 season.

He says, he booked it straight to Park City after the Mammoth Grand
Prix and, reminiscent of last winter when he innovated several double
corks in the pipe, he fixated on this new goal.

DANNY DAVIS IS OUT
Danny Davis was injured in a non-snowboard related ATV accident
early Sunday morning outside of Park City, Utah. A statement from
his agent Sue Izzo confirmed that his injuries are non-life threatening,
but it is clear from an update made by Sue on the ?Danny Davis Pro
Snowboarder? Facebook page that Danny has sustained an L3 spinal
fracture and was in surgery Monday. He will not be competing for
the rest of the 2010 season including the Olympics.

West Coast legend Warren G speaks to Hard Knock TV about the "Death Row Records" days. Why He had to branch out on his own and why he's yet to record a song with his brother Dr Dre.
Warren says it hurt to have to go out on his own, but he felt like he had no choice after being told by Dre he needed to go for self. Warren says he felt left out by Dr Dre & Snoop Dogg back then and wishes they could all have success together.

Control skateboards is releasing a new board with all sales proceeds going to help the victims of the earthquake in Haiti, here is the press release with full details.
St-Nicolas, Qc January 18th 2010 --In an attempt to come to the aid of the people who are suffering in Haiti in the aftermath of a violent earthquake that brought death and destruction to the country last week we have decided to release a special edition skateboard. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these boards will go to the people of Haiti via the Red Cross.This board will go on sale across Canada within the next 2 weeks. This board is made out of 100% hardrock Canadian maple at the Control Manufacture in St-Nicolas Qc Canada. The project however is one of our sales team. We will use all the contacts we have built over the last 15 years to reach out to all shops, brands and skaters accross Europe, Canada, USA and South America that currently buy boards from us.

SK8 or DIE
Ah the ?80s. The graphics of V. Courtlandt Johnson and

Double Cork Drama
When I opened my front door this morning to retreive my daily
newspaper (The Toronto Star), the last thing I expected to see
was a morphed sequence of Shaun White doing a double cork
on the front page. My first thought: "Damn, that's probably the
first time I've ever seen a proper snowboard photo in the newspaper"
(which are infamous for publishing "guy in the sky" shots where the
reference point is always cut off). My second thought:
"Damn, this Kevin Pearce story is getting big."

It?s a serious head injury and it?s going to take a long time to get it all
figured out and rehabilitated. But I am incredibly optimistic after
seeing Kevin, and more importantly knowing what a fighter he is.
