Balroom Anniversary with Team Canada
Performing this Saturday, Dec. 29th, 2008
Mashup DJs Team Canada return to Montreal to play for the Balroom Bar Third Anniversary party on Saturday, November 29th, 2008.
Team Canada was formed in 2004 when Battle DJ D.R.One linked with producer/DJ Grandtheft. They released their groundbreaking bootleg debut "Classic Material Volume 1" which quickly established themselves as Canada's #1 Mashup Remixers.
Since then they have toured extensively across North America and the world, playing for packed houses and celebrity events alike. They bring their unique Mashup back to Montreal as they play an extended set for the Balroom Bar Anniversary party.
This will also be the after party for Smif-N-Wessun. The first 40 people with ticket stubs from the show will receive free entry and complimentary drinks, courtesy of Escape Entertainment. Smif-N-Wessun will playing an up close and intimate concert at Salle Lambi, 4495 St-Laurent Blvd. at 7:30pm
This event is presented by Balroom Bar in association with Escape, Dreamskai and JesseWalker.net.

A few days ago, we reported on a photo of Justice performing
without their control unit plugged in. After calling
Gespard and getting his explanation?"It came unplugged"
Duh!?the team at Justice HQ
went and found the before and after pics and posted them
on their MySpace.
Thrasher (USA) 1981
By 1981 the second wave was over, only the hard core remained. Many of the Skateparks had closed and skaters were going underground. Skateboarder had morphed into Action Now and was covering a range of what would become known as Extreme Sports. Fausto Vitello (co founder of Independent Trucks) saw the need for a 'skateboard only' magazine, however the Skateboard Industry at the time saw things differently. Fausto found investors from elsewhere and formed the publishing company High Speed Productions. With Kevin Thatcher as Editor, Thrasher first hit the streets in January 1981, it's philosophy from the start was for a magazine written by Skateboarders for Skateboarders. From the outset Thrasher set out to cover all aspects of Skateboarding.
The original Newspaper format was due to Fausto having a friend with a press set up to that paper size, later the magazine changed to a more standard size. As well as covering all aspects of Skating - Thrasher was instrumental in introducing readers to a range of different musical tastes from the burgeoning 'New Music' scene.
Many Skaters have contributed to it's pages and for many skaters around the world Thrasher was, and remains, the Skateboard magazine. As Fausto said; 'Thrasher is not about hypocrisy or selling out to corporate America. We are about skate and destroy'.

Project: Burton Light Camo
I was approached by Burton to create a design and pattern to be used for
their 2009 outerwear based around the theme and name "Light Camo".
X-Games winner Kevin Pearce wore the jacket for his 2008 X-Games
halfpipe run.

designers rack their brains and come up with the most effective
solution. Like this self-balancing ?No-Snowboard,? for example.
Based on a Segway, the skateboard requires no human effort for
balancing. And interestingly, it doesn?t throw you off-balance if there
is a sudden stop. Instead, you can just jump off and keep running.
The self-balancing act is achieved by a gyroscope, and the
intelligence inside is driven by an ATMega 32 microcontroller.

Plusieurs stations au Québec dont le Mont Saint-Bruno ouvrent leurs premières pistes dès cet après-midi! Quand j'ai appris la bonne nouvelle, un immense sourire c'est aussitôt fixé à mon visage. Plus capable de m'en débarasser! À chaque année, c'est un moment magique pour nous tous. Donc ce soir, on se "strap" dans nos bindings et on va slasher, jibber et pourquoi ne pas en profiter pour faire sauter le bouchon de la bouteille de champagne qui traîne chez vos parents!

Burton Snowboards and Calgary Olympic Development Association?s
(CODA) Canada Olympic Park today announced that they have decided
to move the upcoming Canadian Open Snowboarding
Championships to February 2-8, 2009. Due to the recent
cancellation of the Session at Vail, an optimal window has opened in the
North American snowboard event schedule.
?With the Session no longer happening, it frees up a window in the
calendar that we have looked at in the past as strategically beneficial
to the event,? said Burton Events Director, Liam Griffin. ?This week
leads up to the FIS World Cup at Cypress in 09, and it also leads up
to the Olympics in 2010. Since the Canada Olympic Park pipe was
the template that the Cypress pipe was based off of, this gives riders
the option to hit two events in western Canada in a row.?
Due to the change in dates of the Canadian Open, the
Burton European Open (BEO) is now the next event in the Burton
Global Open Series. Celebrating its 10th year, the special birthday
edition of the Burton European Open will take place in Laax,
Switzerland from January 9-16, 2009.
With events scheduled year-round and in six countries, the Burton
Global Open Series offers riders the chance to earn points towards
a male and female championship title, each worth $100,000,
currently the largest single payout in competitive snowboarding.
The Burton Global Open Series is also part of the Swatch
Ticket To Ride World Snowboard Tour (TTR), the largest
group of independent freestyle snowboard events in the world.
TTR ranks riders based on their results at participating competitions
and crowns a TTR World Champion at the US Open. For more

D12 D12 est constitué des rappeurs Bizarre, Kon Artis, Kuniva et Swift, avec membres fondateurs Eminem et le défunt Proof. Ils sont surtout connus pour leurs chansons ?Purple Pills? et ?Fight Music'.
Royce da 5?9?? un rappeur Fortement respecté de la scène souterraine du Rap, a déjà quatre albums à son actif, incluant Rock City (Version 2.0) qui est certifié Or, dont plusieurs chansons ont étés sélectionnées pour la série de jeux vidéos Grand Theft Auto.

This is an old article but quite interesting .I wish I could have had skating in PE when I was a kid cuz track and field pretty much sucked!
Students at a Barnstaple school are the envy of youngsters elsewhere in Devon - after skateboarding was included in PE lessons.
Skateboarding has finally made it onto the school curriculum - at one Devon school at least.
Now, enthusiasts at other schools across the county must be hoping their teachers follow the example set by Pilton Community College in Barnstaple.
The college has incorporated skateboarding into the school's PE lessons - and, not surprisingly, it's been a popular decision!

Pierre Minhondo INTERVIEW
Pierre Minhondo and Justin Eeles are that main cats behind Mack Dawg
People and before that Pierre was formerly of Neoproto films. The style
of films they have made has changed the way snowboard movies are
made.
They took what where then new school riders with maneuvers some
thought were, well, stupid and brought them to be pretty much the
standard for modern riding, at least to a degree. Together they are
responsible for Down With People, Were People Too and People.
Neoproto made movies such as Some Kind of Life, Everyday Something,
Neoproto? you get the idea, goood stuff. Movies and the amount of work
that goes into them has always been fascinating.
The way a good snowboard film is edited, where the music starts and
stops is all a result of the love that goes into them. All the travel, gas
station meals, sleepless nights and countless hours editing give you,
the viewer, 30-60 initial minutes of entertainment, many hours of
"whoa, lets watch it again" and they may even change you life as you
emulate the riders and change the way you look at snowboarding.
We were lucky enough to sit down with Pierre in the People
studio in Oceanside, CA and talk about?making movies
and other stuff.
RIDE
David has the easy style. Whether it's snowboarding or how he lives
his life, everything seems easy and it is this ease of life that keeps
everyone around him stoked and in good spirits. With all that can go
wrong out in the backcountry or on a long road trip, David ensures a
good day for all. Pure undistracted snowboarding comes to mind when
riding with Aubry. So many snowboarders out there these days seem
to pay to much attention to what others think and can't concentrate
on progressing their snowboarding for fun. The proof for us is that
Aubry seems to come back every season with a slew of photos from so
many different photographers for this reason... lets go snowboarding,
lets have fun and lets get home safe so we can do it all again tomorrow.
Plain and simple, David Aubry is a real snowboarder!

Concept
Du jamais vu à ce jour, le Québec Open est la première compétition québécoise officielle de surf diffusée sur internet, comme le WCT (circuit international de pro surfeur). Ce sport est en émergence au Québec et les athlètes depuis longtemps désirent un championnat. Le Québec Open a donc été mis sur pied pour remédier à cette lacune.

We rolled the movie to a packed house, most of the crowd had already
seen the movie but still yelled and cheered as if it were their first time.
The crew tossed all kinds of shwag throughout the place and it seemed
like everyone left there happy. After the film the crowd was treated to
female jello wrestling???yep you read that right, female Jello
wrestling?..Quebec female jello wrestling for that matter. For obvious
reasons we can?t show to much of what went on late night there, but
needless to say everyone had a really, really good time. Big thanks to
Nick Rochon, his tech rep Gabe, the Ozone, and all of the team guys
that made the trip. See you next year.
